A beautiful smile makes a wonderful first impression. It makes the people around you feel more at ease. It encourages them to communicate and interact, and that makes all the difference. However, no matter how much one tried to take care of his teeth and gums, there are still times when people become unaware that what they are doing is putting their teeth and gums at risk for infection. Before you ruin that beautiful smile that can change the world, there are things you should avoid doing to achieve healthy teeth all the time:

· First, you must quit smoking. How many times have you tried and failed? Sometimes, the thought of it can be quite frustrating, but you should never give up. Smoking causes stains on your teeth. It also leads to bad breath problems. These are just another two reasons that will make you quit smoking altogether. The tar from the tobacco leaves a sticky film on the teeth that feed on the bacteria. Quit smoking today and save yourself from costly dental procedures in the future.

· Second, you engage in sports, and that’s good because it helps maintain good health. However, instead of gulping on that sports drink you just bought, why don’t you just go for water instead? Sports drink contain as much if not more than the amount of sugar in a can of soda. So if you think that sports drink to keep you hydrated, water can do the same thing minus all the risks. Go for water, and you’ll never regret that you did.

· Third, drinking red wine can indeed be beneficial for the overall health. In fact, several studies should that drinking red wine can help lower the risks of having a heart problem. However, drinking too much wine without proper dental practices after could mean disaster. Not only can it cause teeth discoloration, but it could damage the teeth as well. The acid that it contains goes to the teeth and slowly eats it natural enamel.

Taking care of one’s health is not just about eating right and getting a regular amount of exercise. Instead, it should also include proper dental health care. Keep these tips in mind, and you’ll never have to worry about your teeth or gums ever again.
